Literacy support for all learners

BrainScience Works gives teachers another way to help foundational literacy click. Through hands-on, visual-spatial, multisensory learning, students say, build, see, and write as they explore letters, sounds, and words—making learning active, tangible, and memorable. Structured lessons and clear progress insights help teachers respond to different learning needs while strengthening the literacy instruction already happening in their classroom.

The BrainScience Works Literacy difference

BrainScience Works helps teachers turn literacy practice into meaningful action. Students work with letters, sounds, syllables, and words in ways that make their thinking visible—so teachers can notice what is clicking, respond to misconceptions, and help students build the foundational skills they need to read with greater independence.

Clay letters spelling 'say'
  • What students do

Students say the letter, sound, or word they are learning, connecting what they see in print with the language they hear and produce.
  • Why it matters in your classroom

Saying it makes learning active and observable. You can hear whether students are making the right connections, while students strengthen the link between spoken language and written symbols.
  • The research

Children have been shown to remember words and unfamiliar letter strings more accurately when they read them aloud rather than silently Pritchard et al., 2020.
