One hands-on method. Three stages of reading development

Learning to read doesn't happen all at once. Students build one skill on top of another. Our supplemental literacy programs combine explicit digital instruction, visual-spatial learning, writing, and clay-based activities to help students build foundational reading skills.

Learning Letters

Before students can confidently read words, they need to know the letters that make those words possible.

Learning Letters helps early learners recognize, name, orient, and form uppercase and lowercase letters through explicit digital instruction and three-dimensional clay building.

Seeing Words

Now that students know their letters, the next step is learning how those letters work together.

Seeing Words bridges the gap between letter knowledge and word reading by helping students make the sounds inside words visible. Students see letters, say their sounds, build them with clay, blend the sounds together, and connect the finished word to reading and writing.

Knowing Words

As students become more capable decoders, Knowing Words builds on Learning Letters and Seeing Words by helping them recognize essential high-frequency words such as the, of, was, from, and where with greater efficiency and understanding.

Through visual-spatial learning and hands-on clay modeling, students explore how words look, are written, and function in sentences—making even abstract words more meaningful and memorable.
